Spanish Brands that Should be in Everyone's Wardrobe
One of my favorite things to do abroad is to go shopping. I always pack light so I have plenty of room in my suitcase for all my new purchases. So far, Spain has been my favorite place to shop. I fell in love with some of their beloved brands at around age eight and have never looked back.
MANGO
I fell in love with Mango as a little girl entirely because at the time I had a Golden Retriever named Mango. I made my mom go into the store in Barcelona because as an eight year old I thought maybe they’d have something with my dog. Well they didn’t, but good thing my mom loved the store because for the rest of my childhood we would spend out time searching the US for anything MANGO.
As an adult, I love this brand because it is the perfect mixture of stylish and trendy and everyday classics. Its also very affordable and good quality. I have only really shopped MANGO while living in Barcelona but those clothes I purchased a few years ago are still in great shape. Since my first introduction to MANGO they have become a lot easier to shop in the US. Their online store is easy to use and shipping and returns are no hassle.
Desigual
Desigual has been one of my favorite Barcelona based companies for the majority of my life. This is another brand I discovered strolling around the Gothic Quarter with my mother. I liked it as a little girl because of their bright colors and cool designs. Fifteen years later and that is still why I love them. They have a distinct pattern that reminds me of the vibrant colors of the Barcelona. They are more expensive so its always a treat to buy something. Luckily, their online US store is having more and more sales so I find my Desigual collection growing. I’m wearing a Spring 2019 Desigual dress in the first picture!
Oysho
Oysho is the best combination of swimwear, loungewear and athletic wear. I discovered them a few years ago living in Barcelona. My roommates and I spent so much money in this store buying all of the bathing suits and pjs we could. There stuff is beautiful and better than that comfy. All of my loungewear from Oysho is so soft and my favorite thing to sleep in. I was truly heartbroken to find my dog had chewed a hole in one of my Oysho tops.
There bathing suits and beachwear is also amazing. I love their beach coverups because they are real clothes. I’ve worn one of their beach dresses to work multiple times and got so many compliments. I haven’t tired their athletic wear yet but I am dying to! Their sports bras look so cute and they are definitely going to be one of my next purchases.
Massimo Dutti
My old roommate loves this brand so much that when she left her purchases from here on the airplane she sprinted through a ton of security and was banging on the plane door to let her back in. Three hours later she got her dress back. Massimo Dutti is a little pricey but the clothes are end up in airport jail worthy. They have beautiful classic pieces that are perfect for any wardrobe. Their designs just make you feel elegant by putting them on. Unlike some of the other Barcelona brands Massimo Dutti has your classic pieces. Desigual is much more that statement piece but if you’re looking for a high quality classic outfit, this is your place.
