Horchata

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of uncooked white rice

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 12 oz can of sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 12oz can of evaporated milk

  • 4 cups of warm water

  • 2 cups of cool water

  • 2 cups of milk (I used oat milk but use whatever you prefer)

  • Ground cinnamon to garnish (optional)

How to make it:

  1. Wash and drain the rice.

  2. Place the rice, 1 cinnamon stick and 4 cups of water in a bowl and refrigerate for a minimum of four hours.

  3. Add your water, rice and cinnamon stick to a blender and blend until smooth.

  4. Use a fine strainer to pour your rice mixture into a pitcher.

  5. Then add your sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, 2 cups of regular milk and 2 cups of water to your pitcher.

  6. Stir and then enjoy over ice!

  7. You can sprinkle ground cinnamon over your individual glasses of Horchata
