Baked Brie with Balsamic Onions
Ingredients:
1 medium onion
1 sheet of puff pastry or biscuits dough
1 wheel of brie cheese
2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon of thyme
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 whisked egg
olive oil
salt
pepper
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Over medium heat sauté your onions with olive oil salt and pepper.
Once the onions have become golden (about 20 minutes) stir in the sugar and balsamic vinegar. Allow the mixture to reduce and become jam like.
Roll out your pastry dough and place your brie in the center. Top the brie with your onion mixture and fold the dough around the cheese.
Brush your dough with an egg wash and top with thyme.
If you’re using puff pastry bake for 30 minutes, if you use biscuit dough bake for 20 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy with a baguette, crackers, apples or pears.
