Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1/2 box of pasta

  • 1/2 a large yellow onion

  • 1/4 of roasted red pepper (they can be found in a jar)

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 2 cups of heavy cream

  • 3 cups of shredded parmesan

  • 1/2 lb of shrimp (fresh or frozen)

  • 2 medium size sausage links ( I used Aidelle’s Cajun Style Sausage)

  • salt

  • pepper

  • paprika

  • cajun seasoning

  • garlic powder

Directions

  1. First start by boiling a pot of water for your pasta and cook according to the box.

  2. While your water is boiling dice your onion, mince 3 gloves of garlic, and chop up your sausage into small bite size pieces.

  3. In a frying pan add 2 tablespoons of butter to medium heat.

  4. Once the butter is melted add your onion, garlic, sausage and shrimp.

  5. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and cajun seasoning.

  6. Once your onions are soft and the sausage and shrimp are fully cooked add the roasted red peppers.

  7. Then add 2 tablespoons of flour to your shrimp sausage mixture to thicken it.

  8. Once the four is mixed in add the heavy cream and parmesan. Keep stirring until the parmesan is fully mixed in with the heavy cream.

  9. Add an additional teaspoon of cajun seasoning to the sauce.

  10. Drain your pasta and add to your sauce mixture.

  11. Mix well and serve while hot.
